Woody Logic Surfboards is offering kits to build longboards, fishes, and Stand-Up Paddleboards.  The kits include a 24 chapter manual, with over 100 color pictures, plus a 10-1/2" fin box, leash plug, patterns, full size templates and a vent kit. *The fish and Keiki kits are designed for glass-on keels and does not include finboxes.  Every aspect of building these boards is covered in detail.  The boards can be made from materials readily available from most home improvement stores, or lumber yards.

The woods used in construction are fairly inexpensive spruce, douglas fir, white or yellow pine and cedar. If you are not familiar with hollow wood surfboard construction, it is similar to building an aircraft wing.  The main components are the spar and ribs.  I cover in detail how to make rails that follow the profile of the ribs.  It makes for a strong overall design, especially when it is covered with fiberglass and epoxy.  The SUP kit also includes  a chapter and pattern devoted to making a paddle with a 10-degree offset power face.

The manual covers building the wood board, installing all of the components, glassing and finishing.  There are over 100 color pictures that show the details described in the manual.  If the builder has a question about a procedure, there is a support resource where I answer questions.  The manual follows the same exact procedures and steps that I follow when building my boards.
